Columbia Forest is tucked away on the northern side of Waterloo, but thanks to the GRT system, residents aren’t isolated by any means. Within the neighbourhood bus route, 31 gives residents a direct line to the Conestoga Mall Transit Terminal that connects with many other buses and the Light Rail Transit System. To travel to Waterloo’s Boardwalk, route 13 loops through the northern end and Laurelwood or catches either the 202 or the 29 that goes along Erbsville Road.

Parks

The highlight of living in Columbia Woods is how much green space there is to explore, the surrounding forest has been preserved, and trails have been added for residents to venture safely. On the northern end of the neighbourhood are smaller wetlands as well; if you’re an animal lover or just looking to get closer to nature Columbia Woods is perfect for you. 

Black Cherry Park is located in the centre of Columbia Woods on Black Cherry Street, the park has playground equipment and is one of the entrance points to the GeoTime Trail. 

St. Moritz Park on the south end of the community has a beautiful view of the sprawling countryside adjacent to Columbia Woods. This park has two tennis courts, a soccer field, playground equipment and is the southern entrance to the GeoTime Trail. 

The GeoTime Trail winds through the Winterburg Forest north, through Forested Hills up until Monastery Creek, the trail has portions dedicated for bikes and off Terran hiking.
