Conservation Meadows is a picturesque, small neighbourhood of newer homes in a small, intimate neighbourhood. Many of the homes back onto green space, providing a forest of beautiful trees as a background view. It’s a wonderful and friendly location, with plenty of informal events like corn roasts among the neighbours and entire blocks that vacation together.

Location

Conservation Meadows is located on the northern strip of West Waterloo.  Boasting a peaceful atmosphere where residents live away from the bustle of the city, but still close enough to enjoy the convenience of shopping and amenities. It’s the perfect area for nature lovers, with sweeping green spaces, walking trails, and close proximity to Laurel Creek.

Although Conservation Meadows is tucked away at the edge of town, it’s also conveniently close to many shopping opportunities, as the area has been expanding and developing in recent years.

Groceries are only a 6 minute drive to Sobeys or Food Basics, or 10 minutes to Goodness Me, or Dutchie’s Fresh Market, for those who prefer natural, sustainable food products. If you’re looking for an Asian food market, it’s an 11 minute drive to the Waterloo Central Supermarket. For Indian food, it’s only a 5 minute drive to Onkar Foods and Spices. So, whatever your cravings might be, you have plenty of options close by.

St Jacob’s Farmers’ Market is also only a 6 minute drive away from local, farm fresh food, locally made goods, and so much more.

Groceries aren’t the only thing close by, though. With The Boardwalk only minutes away, you have access to Walmart, Costco, Bed Bath & Beyond, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Canadian Tire, Mark’s, Staples, Pet Smart, Curry’s Art Store, places to get a haircut or your nails done, and much more. 

If you’re looking for a night out, The boardwalk is also home to the Waterloo Landmark Cinema, with reserved seating, 10 screens to watch the latest movies, and an explosive custom audio system. 

There’s also a splash pad in the center of The Boardwalk you can take the kids to!

For some Middle-Eastern food with an Egyptian influence, there’s Almadina Woodstone Oven and Grill, where you can dine on succulent meats cooked on a charcoal grill, fresh-made falafel, and serving up some of the most delicious vegetarian food in the area.

HealthCare 

The Boardwalk Medical Centre is only minutes away from Conservation Meadows and has expanded to have two buildings side by side. Schooling / Child Care

There are no schools within the neighbourhood boundaries of Conservation Meadows, so students are bussed to the closest schools. 

Public school children (K-6) attend N A MacEachern Public School which offers French immersion to students, grades 1-6, while middle school students can receive the same at MacGregor Public School for grades 7-8. High school students attend Sir John A MacDonald Secondary School or Waterloo Collegiate Institute.

Catholic students can attend Sir Edgar Bauer Catholic School in Lakeshore or St. David Catholic Secondary School.

Transit
Parks

The heart of Conservation Meadows is its huge public park with two soccer fields and an outdoor skating rink. Also neighbouring the Laurel Creek Conservation Area means you’re never too far away from a breathtaking stroll through nature.

Conservation Meadows Soccer Field is a well-maintained field with washroom facilities during soccer season and great local reviews. Field size is suitable for 7v7, and also includes a playground for children, making it the perfect hangout spot for families.

You’re also only minutes away from the West-Side Trails and many other local trails that are perfect for a nice walk or jumping on your bike to get some fresh air and check out the sights. 

There is no shortage of beautiful parks and well-maintained trails around Waterloo, and with a little sense of adventure, you’re bound to find some stunning views.
