Doon is located in Kitchener’s southernmost area, with access to highway 401 and highway 8.

The Waterloo Regional Museum and its attached historically themed park Doon Heritage Village is located on the north side of Doon. These two sites are home to some of the Region’s long history. It is dedicated to showcasing how life in the Waterloo Region was during the settlement era. They also host the annual groundwater festival, an initiative that aims to teach the community about the importance of groundwater in our Region and how we benefit from it. Finally, there is the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre that is attached to the Pioneer Park branch of the Kitchener Public Library. Commuting within Doon and to destinations outside of Doon is simple and fast thanks to the numerous GRT bus lines that run through the neighbourhood.  With most routes using Conestoga, Fairview Mall and Sportsworld as their transit hubs, there are multiple ways to travel to your destination. Accessing Waterloo and Cambridge has also been improved thanks to the Ion LRT system; Fairview Mall hosts the LRT streetcar station and has specialized Ion buses that go directly to Cambridge with minimal stops to make your trips fast and convenient.
