Directly Across from the Mall is The Cineplex Plaza that houses Cineplex VIP theatres, Party City and an Indigo Chapters location. Fairway Plaza  offers even more shopping selections: Homesense, Carter’s, MEC and Petsmart, to name a few; the choices seem to be endless. Towards the Northeast side of Doon is Sportsworld Crossing Shopping Plaza. Located here are even more shops with few overlapping brands that make your choices feel endless! Urban Planet, Nike Factory Store, Value Village, and Costco Wholesale all within a short trip down Highway 8.

Located on Homer Watson Boulevard the Waterloo Regional Museum is attached  to the historical site of Doon Heritage Village is located on the north side of Doon. These Sites are dedicated to showcasing how life in the Waterloo Region was while it was being settled. They also host the annual Groundwater Festival, an initiative that aims to teach the community about the importance of groundwater in our Region. Finally, there is the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre that is attached to the Pioneer Park branch of the Kitchener Public Library. The center hosts a variety of youth, teen and adult programs that aim to unite the community through participation and activities.

Doon is lucky to have two authentic pubs located within the borders of the neighbourhood. The Rabid Fox in the Pioneer Park Plaza is known for its relaxing atmosphere and delicious pub food. Commuting within Doon and to destinations outside of Doon is simple and fast thanks to the numerous GRT bus lines that run through the neighbourhood.  With most routes using Conestoga, Fairview Mall and Sportsworld as their transit hubs, there are multiple ways to travel to your destination. Accessing Waterloo and Cambridge has also been improved thanks to the Ion LRT system; Fairview Mall hosts the LRT streetcar station and has specialized Ion buses that go directly to Cambridge with minimal stops to make your trips fast and convenient.
