Eastbridge is an active community on the North-East side of Waterloo, away from the bustle of Uptown.  It has been a popular neighbourhood for young families since it was built. Landscaped crescents, ponds, and parks make it a very picturesque neighbourhood, with traffic-calmed streets for children-at-play.  

The homes in Eastbridge are new with many modern comforts. The lots are smaller and reminiscent of Toronto suburbs, but mature trees and well-developed walking trails satisfy the need for nature.

Convenience is also a big selling feature of living in Eastbridge. You have quick access to the expressway if you need to get to the other end of the city or commute, but you’re also minutes from Conestoga Mall and RIM Park.

The residents of Eastbridge have a very friendly, active neighbourhood association that hosts regular seasonal events from Halloween parties to community garage sales. Driving the kids to hockey practice? You’re a 2 – 5 minute drive from RIM Park, where you can enjoy some hot chocolate at The Benchwarmer after the game. RIM Park is also the home of the Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club.

Need to host an event? RIM Park does that too! With many event spaces for rent, you can host anything from retirement parties to birthdays to MUCH Dance parties for tweens. 

Looking for weekend activities? Being on the edge of the city has its perks! You’re a short drive from Grey Silo Golf Course and Conestogo River Horseback Adventures. Or you can have a shopping day at Conestoga Mall and end it with dinner at the movies.

Schooling / Child Care

Millen Woods Public School is the newest school in Waterloo and offers grades 1-6 and French Immersion. It has state-of-the-art education facilities, as well as a Jacob Hespler Child Care facility. 

Lester B. Pearson Public School is also in the area, boasting an intimate school community and offering grades 1-6 plus French immersion. Students of either school go on to complete their high school at Bluevale Collegiate Institute. 

If you’re looking to send your children to Catholic school, St. Luke Catholic School is a great choice. Located down the road from Lester B. Pearson Public School on Chesapeake Drive in Eastbridge, St. Luke also has childcare services provided by Owl Child Care. Graduates of St. Luke’s will bus to St. David’s Catholic Secondary School for grades 9 – 12.

Waterloo Region is also known for its variety of choices in post-secondary education. Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Waterloo, and Conestoga College all have campuses on University Avenue, just down the street.

GRT bus route #16 runs throughout Eastbridge and ends at Conestoga Mall, where you can transfer to several other lines. You can also hop on the ION Light Transit Rail there and head Uptown Waterloo or Downtown Kitchener to places like Grand River Hospital, Victoria Park, and The Kitchener Market.

Just need to run some errands? GRT bus route #202 will take you right by University Downs Plaza, where you can grab groceries, your Tim Hortons fix, or dinner for the family.

You can also take advantage of the expressway access at University Avenue if you’re commuting or heading into Kitchener or Cambridge, or you can always walk to your destination using the well-used trails of the area like The Grand River Trail.
