Shopping & Entertainment 

Within the neighbourhood is a collection of shops called the Williamsburg Town Centre; There is a TD Canada Trust branch, a Home Hardware and a Sobeys conveniently located within walking distance, so no matter what daily tasks you have, you’ll never have to go too far. The Williamsburg Community Centre offers free access to computers, hosts family-friendly events and can be rented out as a venue for residents. During the Fall, approximately September to November, a Spirit Halloween store opens a location here in Williamsburg. Below is a list of additional businesses that can be found in the town centre.

If you take a short trip north on Fischer-Hallman Road, you’ll find Sunrise Shopping Centre at the intersection of Ottawa Street South.

Williamsburg has many health and lifestyle establishments conveniently located within the Williamsburg Town Centre. The Goodlife Fitness 24-hour gym is excellent for residents looking to keep active year-round, this location is unique as it is the only two-story Goodlife location in Kitchener. For those days you just can’t that kink out of your neck, Massage Works offers premier massage therapy minutes away from home. Located on the south side of Williamsburg is an Optical house, a combination optical store and optometrist that offers direct billing on select plans. Residents who need immediate care can go to the nearest hospital; St.Mary’sGeneral Hospital is known for its Cardiac Care Centre, located on Queen’s Boulevard.

Schooling / Child Care

Public school students living in Williamsburg are welcome to attend Williamsburg Public School for grades JK-6, it also has an attached YMCA Child Daycare for children ages two and up. Students also have the choice of attending Queensmount Public Middle School located at Queen and Westmount in Kitchener. 

Catholic students can attend John Sweeney Catholic Elementary School, which is located on Activa Avenue and accepts students from Jk- Grade 8. High school students can choose to attend either Cameron Heights public high school or St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School.

Additionally, there are after school help centres available within Williamsburg students to attend. Kumon Math and Reading Centre are located in the Williamsburg Town Centre; it specializes in helping children 3+ improve their reading, writing and math skills. On the southern end of Williamsburg is an Oxford Learning centre location. Oxford offers programs for young children, elementary after school tutoring and advanced highschool success programs so you can guarantee your child is getting the help they need.

Williamsburg is located on the south end of Kitchener, but thanks to the speedy and dependable bus service provided by Grand River Transit, travelling across town is a breeze. If you are looking to commute the university area, you can hop on the 201 iXpress that goes along Fischer-Hallman or take the route 12 Westmount that loops between either end of the city stopping at Conestoga Mall and Fairview Mall. Routes 22 and 33 give residents easy access to Laurentian West and Huron, respectively; these two are newer routes meant to give Kitchener’s southernmost neighbourhoods access.
