Location

Wilmot Township makes up the rural area and communities on the West side of Waterloo Region, bordering both Kitchener and Waterloo. A very unique feature of this area is that it is still home to a few communities of Amish Mennonites, and so it is not uncommon to see horse and buggies travelling the roads.

Popular growing towns like St. Agatha, New Hamburg, and Baden make up the bulk of the population, with fewer residents in Haysville, Wilmot Centre, and New Dundee. Interestingly, Manheim – one of the most upscale neighbourhoods in Waterloo Region – sits on the border of Wilmot Township.

Highway 8 travels directly through the area, making it easy to access gems like Rebel Creek Golf Club and Foxwood Golf and Country Club.
